FAQ

Why does the waste factor change with the pattern?

Diagonal and herringbone patterns produce more cut waste than a straight layout, so each material and pattern combination has its own default waste factor -- shown as a starting point you can override for your specific job.

Does the result round up to full boxes?

For hardwood, engineered, LVP, and laminate, yes -- purchase quantity always rounds up to whole boxes since those are sold by the box or carton. Carpet is sold by the square yard instead, so its result rounds up to whole square yards.

Can I enter area from Room Layout?

Yes. Room Layout floor area can be used directly instead of entering square footage by hand.
