Frequently Asked Questions
Pricing & Access
Is CrewMeasure really free?
Yes. The 40 active core calculators are free to open without usage caps, a trial period, or an account requirement.
Do I need to create an account to use the calculators?
No. The current calculator app works without account creation.
Will paid features exist later?
Possibly. Paid features should cover business workflow value such as cloud sync, branded reports, company defaults, supplier-ready lists, integrations, or API access. Core calculator access should not be blocked behind an account.
Accuracy & Formulas
Where do the formulas come from?
CrewMeasure uses general construction formulas and documented reference sources where supported, including AWC, IRC/IBC, IPC, NEC, manufacturer-style coverage assumptions, and standard material-yield math. Not every calculator is a code-table lookup, so each calculator should state its assumptions and limits.
Are the results code-compliant for my area?
No calculator can guarantee local code compliance. Model codes vary by adopted edition and local amendments, and manufacturers can add product-specific requirements. Treat CrewMeasure as a planning reference and verify with the appropriate authority or qualified professional.
Can I rely on CrewMeasure instead of an engineer or licensed professional?
No. CrewMeasure calculators are estimation and reference tools. They are not a substitute for engineering review, code compliance verification, or licensed trade judgment, especially for structural, electrical, plumbing, egress, span, load, or life-safety work.
Offline Use & Technical
Does CrewMeasure work without internet access?
CrewMeasure is an installable web app with service-worker caching. The first load requires internet access, and offline behavior should be tested on the device and browser you plan to use before relying on it in the field.
What devices does CrewMeasure work on?
CrewMeasure works in modern desktop and mobile browsers as a web app and installable PWA. iOS and Android app-store builds have not been released yet.
Where is my project data stored?
Project data is stored locally in the current version using browser storage. CrewMeasure cannot recover that data if browser storage is cleared, the device is lost, or the app data is removed.
Data & Privacy
Does CrewMeasure sell my project data?
The current privacy position is local-first project storage. See the Privacy Policy for the exact current terms and any future updates if accounts, cloud sync, analytics, or integrations are added.
Does CrewMeasure use tracking cookies?
CrewMeasure uses Google Analytics for aggregate usage reporting. Calculator project data is stored locally in the current version and is separate from analytics events.
What happens to my saved calculations if I clear my browser data?
They can be permanently deleted because they are stored locally. Export or separately save anything important before clearing browser data.
