What is the work triangle warning based on?

It adds the three legs between the sink, fridge, and cooktop and checks that one total against the 13-21 ft band shown beside the verdict. That band is this tool's own rule of thumb -- nothing published sets it and no code requires it -- while a total past 26 ft is flagged against long-standing kitchen design guidance. No single leg is judged on its own, and no verdict appears until all three fixtures are placed.

Does linear footage include corner cabinets?

Cabinet linear feet is your wall runs less the openings you enter, so the wall through a corner is already counted. The corner cabinet itself goes in Base cabinet widths as its own entry, at the width it takes up along the run -- that field counts one purchasable box per entry. Whatever the boxes leave over is reported as filler, and a leftover past 12 in as a cabinet still missing from the layout.

Can I use this for a galley or single-wall kitchen?

Yes. Enter a wall run for each wall that carries cabinets and leave the rest out. The work triangle still needs all three fixtures placed as X/Y coordinates from one fixed corner: the fields start empty, and with any one of them unplaced the triangle and its verdict stay blank rather than reporting a short triangle.
